We woke up today (in our safari tents) to the most AMAZING view of the Nile River.
Life is Good!

I was SUPER pumped when Nathan met us at The Source Cafe today...
Hands down, one of my FAVORITE Ugandans.

Nile River Explorers... take 2!
To say I  was fearful about going down the Nile River without our previous raft guide, Nathan, would be a major understatement.  Luckily, I have a guardian angel (who happens to be the most amazing kayaker EVER) named Hassan.  He has saved my life more than once,  Guaranteed!
(more pics to come...)
Our guide for the day,Richard... who turns out to be fabulous too!
Just a few minor bruises to show for now...

I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
- John 14:18

Ok, so technically this picture isn't from today exactly...
but I can't get this little bugger off my mind.
If you would, please join me in prayer about Ssekiranda Jimmy (aka: my heart).

Today we went to visit a piece of prospective land for Sozo Children here in Uganda.
About 15 minutes from where we are now, sits this beautiful property that we are praying will one day belong to Sozo Children.
This land means HOPE!
This land means FREEDOM!
This land means... JIMMY (and lots of other beautiful faces)!

(Colby and Andee shooting a video about our dream for this land)

Please join me in prayer (and giving) as we work towards the reality of moving Sozo onto this land in Uganda.  The vision includes homes for aprox. 328 kids, a school, church, and medical center.  The Lord is going to do great things through Sozo on this land - I'm so excited!!

When it rains in Uganda, you do whatever it takes to get where you need to go.
This is proof.  #FourDeep

Our Kabalagala Women of Faith group has been learning from Scripture
about being a Christ-like servant.  Today, we washed each other's feet
as an act of service and humility - as our Lord did with his disciples.
Such an amazing experience with our beautiful women!
"But whoever would be great among you must be your servant,
and whoever would be first among you must be your slave,
even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve,
and to live his life as a random for many."
Matthew 20:26

Sozo, House 1, has a dog.  I wouldn't call him a "pet" so much - since that's not really the culture here in Africa, but his name is Max and I love him a lot.  He reminds me of my two angels at home - Tootsie (who my mother is caring for and I couldn't be more thankful) and Beamer (who now has a new fabulous home in my absence).  Max got hurt really badly this morning when he was out for his weekly run with our other dog Fox - and their lady friend.  I couldn't stand to take a pic of his wound, but I'm 99% sure it is healing wonderfully.  Before today everyone here at the house (kids and mzungus included) have pretty much ignored (and seriously disliked) Max.  He barks annoyingly at night (when he's trying to protect us).  He jumps and nips at us when we have to run through the yard at night and he's out of his pin - but it's just because he doesn't get much (if any) attention during the day.  Today he has been loved on, cared for and treated.  I think he may be becoming a real pet as his recovery continues - and I'm super excited!

Today, we did lots of work at our favorite school in Kabalagala, Rays of Hope!
Some of us did manual labor (like our fellas below) and some of us graded papers.
We all worked for the Lord.
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.
