and she laughs at the days to come.

plans.

I've been working like crazy trying to finalize plans for the One_Sozo Internship this summer.
Today, I visited Kitende Modern Primary School
(where our kids attend)
and finalzied plans for Field Day!

freedom.

Freedom is the oxygen of the soul.

"For FREEDOM Christ has set us free;
stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery."

the more energy you will have.

living water.

It turns out, a big part of our summer will involve
helping these two village families access clean drinking water.

"Anyone who believes in me may come and drink!
For the scriptures declare,
"Rivers of living water will flow from his heart!"

"you"

We can't have "favorites" at home, but if we could...
Victoria would be a prime candidate.
("Vickie-tow" as I affectionately call her)

Me: "Vickie-tow, what do you want to be when you grow up?"
she thinks hard about my question...
Victoria: "YOU!  I want to be you Auntie."
Today was also head-shaving day, to prepare for school starting back next week...
everyone wanted my hair.

Denis (above) has become my workout buddy this week -
he patrols the yard for me while I walk in circles and counts my laps.  It's great fun!

you will never enter the kingdom of Heaven."

freedom.

"The trail allowed me to feel a strong sense of FREEDOM.
And it helped me to see the oppression of a busy schedule
and the way we multitask in civilization.
I no longer saw what was civil about filling my life with commitments if
I couldn't stop to watch the sunset
or listen to the birds sing."
-Odyssa
finished via headlamp tonight.  bring it on 2,175 miles!!

I loved this excerpt from Pharr's journal:
One of my favorite things about the trail is that you don't see your face.  I mean, I guess you can see it in the reflection of the water, but there are no mirrors, no vanities, and no places to check yourself out.  I used to think that people perceived me based on how I look, but now that I don't see my face, I feel like people perceived me by how I treat them - that is, by what I say to them and how well I listen.  Now I feel beautiful when I make other people smile.

provision.

"I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content
I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound.
In any circumstanceI have learned the secret
of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need.
I can do al things through Him who strengthens me."
